Multifunctional
robot for die casting machines.
This
robot carries out several tasks in this installation:
-unloading the aluminum product from the press
-checking the product
-cooling the workpiece
-placing the part in the trimming press
-put the clean part on the outgoing conveyor |

Motoman’s
line of foundry-hardened, six-axis robots featuring integrated robotic
part handling and die-cast spray and ladling technology is designed
for use in harsh foundry environments where dirt, water spray-off,
and high heat and humidity are problems. The foundry-hardened robots
are used in Motoman’s modular, flexible DieCastWorld™
solutions.
The Servo Float function, which reduces robot programming time,
enables the robot to easily interact with the die cast machine and
forces generated by the ejector mechanism. The robot reacts to external
force by automatically moving with the direction of the force until
that job step is completed.
Fixed and proportional robotic spray options are available. Low-cost,
fixed spray regulation provides on/off control of the basic manifold
only. Motoman’s highly flexible, proportional robotic spray
option includes six independently controlled programmable spray
circuits with proportional control of fluid volume, as well as two
air blow-off circuits. Since it provides only the amount of fluid
needed on each portion of the die, proportional spraying uses less
die lubricant, which saves money on consumables. Proportional spraying
can also lead to decreased scrap and
higher yields.
Additionally, Motoman has patents pending on a two-axis proportional
sprayer device that mounts on top of the die casting machine and
is controlled by the robot’s external axis function. |
